Cannero Riviera is a special microclimatic niche in the far north of Italy, where oranges, citrons and lemons were cultivated in the open as early as the 16th century.

Here, today, a new and interesting cultural and cultivation biodiversity is growing. It is important to be able to publicise this biodiversity on the Internet at a time when the annual festival of gardens open to the public is due to take place. Each day a different theme. In the episode dedicated to “taste”… not only the classic jams, but also some surprises! We will meet the Mursciulitt, biscuits in the shape of Monte Morissolo (from the dialect name of the mountain above the village). They are made by a local pastry shop and the recipe was developed in 2004, together with the students of the local secondary school. You will be intrigued by the Bercencione, a blend of flavoured teas invented by pupils from the local secondary school in 2005. We will discover who is his “majesty” the Canarone, the particular native citrus fruit that was included in the Slow Food Ark of Taste in 2014. This citrus fruit, as well as being a rarity, has an exceptional flavour.

Event organised by the CANNERO RIVIERA MUNICIPALITY and the SLOW FOOD LAGO MAGGIORE E VERBANO CONDUCT.
