In the heart of the Alpine valleys, in the Appenines, in the mountains of southern Italy and on the islands, different communities resist in the Highlands.
They have developed strategies to deal with common problems: abandonment, deforestation, loss of memory and of the value of food, the centrality of cities and valley floors. Guardians of the landscape, defenders of memory, they have transformed the mountains into a place of opportunity. The first round of the Permanent Highlands Forum will include meetings with some of the leading figures in mountain agriculture, producers of Slow Food Presidia. The aim is to create a forum for the Terre Alte stakeholders, a breeding ground for encounters and comparisons, exchanges of ideas, a detonator of synergies.
Thursday 18 March at 9 pm we will meet the Slow Food Presidia Honeys of the L’Aquila Apennines (Abruzzo) with Pietro Asci.
Free event organised by the Slow Food Valle dell’Adige Alto Garda Convivium.
