In the heart of the Alpine valleys, in the Appenines, in the mountains of southern Italy and on the islands, different communities resist in the Highlands.
They have developed strategies to deal with common problems: abandonment, deforestation, loss of memory and of the value of food, the centrality of cities and valley floors. Guardians of the landscape, defenders of memory, they have transformed the mountains into a place of opportunity. The first round of the Permanent Highlands Forum will include meetings with some of the leading figures in mountain agriculture, producers of Slow Food Presidia. The aim is to create a forum for the players in the Terre Alte region, a breeding ground for encounters and comparisons, an exchange of ideas and a trigger for synergies.
In this meeting we will learn about Lentil from Santo Stefano di Sessanio (Abruzzo) with Ettore Ciarrocca.
Event organised by the Slow Food Adige Valley Alto Garda Convivium.
