In Italy, there is no such thing as a ‘fish soup’, but rather Cacciucco, Brodetto, Caldaro, Ciuppin, Ciambotto and so on.

They all have in common their poor origins, their link with the local catch and their bread accompaniment, although it is impossible to find the real recipes… probably every family jealously guards one, as does every restaurateur. The Slow Food Tuscany network with the Versilia, Livorno and Orbetello Slow Food convivia will present three of these specialties: Caciucco from Viareggio, Cacciucco from Livorno and Caldaro.
