The fundamental right to food and compliance with international obligations related to its full recognition.

What are the future development prospects for more sustainable food? StraLi, a non-profit association that promotes the protection of rights through the justice system, will moderate a discussion among experts in the field. The meeting will be attended by:

  • Alberto Oddenino, Professor of International Law, Department of Law, University of Turin
  • Dario Dongo, Lawyer and journalist, expert in food and consumer law at European and international level
  • Mohamed Abdikadir, Somali farmer and coordinator of Slow Food projects in Somalia

The topic will be dealt with from a legal-legislative point of view, introducing the international agreements on the subject, the ongoing work done by FAO and its search for strategies and programmes to respond effectively to the challenges linked to world food insecurity. It will conclude with the third guest, who will bring his concrete experience on the front line.
