Terra Madre in Europe

A journey through events, videos, articles and exhibitors symbolic of the European presence at Terra Madre.

This edition of Terra Madre is at one and the same time an Italian initiative and an international meeting, a food festival that aims to raise public awareness around the true value of food and its importance for the planet’s future, and to ensure good, clean and fair food for all. These are challenges that concern Europe too, as the European Union aims to become more equal, greener, more digital, and better prepared for the future.

European Presidia

Traveling with us, you’ll soon realize that it’s through the numerous European Presidia that we tell the story of food and farming across the continent. Producers and products that reminds us that every act of eating is a political act, a vote: we vote for the food system we want through our food choices.

Buying Slow Food Presidia products doesn’t just mean buying unique foodstuffs to satisfy our palates. It means contributing to:

  • reversing biodiversity loss
  • mitigating the climate crisis
  • supporting local economies
  • guaranteeing fair retribution to farmers and food workers who work so hard to feed the world.
