Vallera Beekeeping is an agricultural company founded in 2001 on the hillsides of Monferrato (Piedmont region) and dedicated exclusively to the breeding of bees and the production of organic honey.
The business was set-up by Davide with the intention of revamping his grandfather Emilio’s agricultural farm, renowned for its wine and amateur bee breeding.
Our artisanal and mainly hand-crafted processes aim to supply a pure and exceptionnally gourmet product which respects the life cycle of insects, which is particularly appreciated by bees.
Our processes include the use of organic products to combat the Varroa destructor parasites (the main bee parasite), and the use of organic wax with no chemical residues. The honey is not pasteurised and therefore maintains all of its organic, natural qualities.
We are engaged towards environmental and social sustainability: for this reason we cooperate with Bee My Job, a social beekeeping and agricoltural project born in Piedmont thanks to APS Cambalache. At the center of this project are the refugees and asylum seekers. UNHCR, sponsor of the project, recently gave us the Welcome – Working for Refugee Integration 2019 logo.
Every honey’s endless nuances relate to the landscapes and flowers that the bees and beekeeper have visited. Our honey is packed in different sizes: the classic glass jars and the new PET jars, light and undestructable.
We also have rechargeable squeezers with dripless cap.
Honey different varieties are yummy by themselves, but also wonderful combined with cheese or meat, or as sweetener in infusions e in pastry, each honey in according with its peculiar features and qualities:
In addition to honey, we also offer bee pollen, a high-protein food with countless healthy properties.
Davide Bosio, beekeeper and honey producer, owner at Vallera Beekeeping:
In this adventure I was induced by the desire of returning to ancient gestures; I was encouraged by honey purity – centuries go by and it never changes -. Every day I am supported by the bees’ strenght and intelligence: they need to be cared, but many times they are able to guide me. I hope that our honey is able to tell all these things through its perfume and the infinite nuances of its flavour.
I think that the respect for the territory means sustainabile production, organic breeding and the decision of being a small farm aimed to the quality and typicality of the products.
