Let me introduce myself: Angelo Ferrio, winemaker.
I live and produce wine in Roero, a territory of steep hills between the plain of Turin and the Tanaro river.
The story of my company is made of sacrifices, passion and attachment to the territory.
Since 1967 we produce wines in our beloved Cascina Rossa (which we renamed Cascina Ca’ Rossa for the color of the bricks), purchased with great effort and much love by my father Alfonso. In the 1980s and especially in the following decade, the wind of change in the world of wine led me to a hard generational clash with my father, which over time brought good and shared fruits.
I’ve never let from new challenges: in 1996 I began bottling Roero Valmaggiore “Audinaggio”, 1998 is the year of the planting of the vineyard Mompissano and 2012 the year of the vineyard Le coste di Santo Stefano Roero.
2012 is also the year of an important challenge: the organic.
Today the winery produces 100,000 bottles on a surface of 16 hectares.
