Latteria Sociale Moderna

From over 50 years and with the number 190 fire brand, Latteria Sociale Moderna makes the King of cheeses, Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Headquartered in Corniano (RE), in the middle of the area known as Parmigiano-Reggiano “cradle”, generations of members pass on an ancient knowledge: the traditional method for the king of cheeses production, the same the Benedictine monks used in 1159 for the “formadio”, the forefather of the modern Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Latteria Sociale Moderna’s production chain starts from the polyphite permanent meadows, protected spontaneous meadows for over 100 years that produce the fodder for the cows. The polyphite permanent meadows feature more than 60 plants, that connote the smells, aroma and taste of the cheese. Indeed, the real quality of the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is in the milk.

Parmigiano-Reggiano is made with only three ingredients: high-quality milk, natural rennet and salt. That’s why it is globally famous and award-winning for its taste and its simplicity. Latteria Sociale Moderna recently won two gold medals at 2019-2020 World Cheese Award for 30-39 months cheese and over 40 months one.

At Latteria Sociale Moderna, you can find Parmigiano-Reggiano in all its different months of maturation, each with its own taste and smell (12 months, 26 months, 32 months, over 40 months) and in different formats (500 grams, 1 kilograms).
