Moretti Omero Farm produces organic wines and extra virgin olive oil.

The company was founded by Omero Moretti  and since 1992 it is organic certified. Producing organic wines is a challenge started by Omero, which now his daughter Giusy continues, working with passion in the cellar.

The key word is craftsmanship: the family personally follows every stage of production.
Love for the land and respect for the ecosystem represent the heart of the company philosophy, so they cultivate native varieties such as: Sagrantino and Trebbiano Spoletino grapes, and Moraiolo and San Felice olives.

Moretti Omero received 97 points from Decanter for Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2016, which means it is one of the 50 best wines in the world and among the best 8 italian ones.

100% Sagrantino grapes

Vinification: Fermentation 15 days. 20 days maceration on the skins. Contact with fine lees for 6 months. Bâtonnage.

Aging: 12 months in French tonneaux. Minimum 6 months in the bottle.

Awards: 97 pt Decanter, Vino Slow

 

Organic extra virgin olive oil (500 ml format)

Where: clay soils; average altitude: 450 meters a.s.l.

Cultivars: Moraiolo, Frantoio, Leccino, San Felice (the latter is a native cultivar of Giano dell’ Umbria) / olive trees planted in 1985.

Field work: manual pruning, shredding of pruning and organic fertilization. Organic cultivation.

Harvest period: in October.
Collection system: facilitated collection. Healthy olives are placed in crates and are quickly transported to our mill, where they will be cold pressed.

Acidity degree: 0.20% at bottling.

Number of peroxides: 7.20 at bottling.

Full of energy and ideas. Giusy has obtained the vegan certification of two wines and, collaborating with Homer, they transformed Trebbiano Spoletino in the classic method.

As a philosophy of life, she distances herself from the tyranny of immediacy and for this reason she has chosen to work in the Sagrantino production area
