Pitars’ history is the narration of a family that growns the same vineyards since the XVI century.
In Friuli Region, the pristine lands that surrounds the last wild alpine river – the Tagliamento – are made of deposits of dolomitic stones and pebbles of alluvional origin. By this riversides, whipped by the northern winds, the vineyards grow in an uncontamined and unique terroir, perfectly vocated for the cultivation of local variety’s aromatic grapes and the production of particoularly mineral wines.
Few steps from the medieval castle, built to protect the ancient river passage raises, stands Pitars winery, an off-grid, natural–friendly bio-building, a technologically advanced farm where all the phases of the wine production take place.
Its perfectly controlled production chain made Pitars one of the premium emerging estates of regional and national enology.
